Reflecting on 2021 and Looking Forward to 2022!

2021 was a very busy and very successful year for Plastic Packaging Technologies (PPT). Although there were certainly some significant challenges to overcome in the last year, including the ongoing threat of the worldwide pandemic, pushing through those challenges made us that much stronger as a flexible packaging manufacturer and paved the way for future success.

Our New Facility Is Open for Business!

Most of us can agree that the construction of our new facility, which we refer to as the Pouching Center of Excellence (PCE), was our greatest accomplishment in 2021.

PPT teamed with six other businesses to build the Turner Logistics Center, a 543,554 square foot facility, in Kansas City, KS. The groundbreaking ceremony took place all the way back in December of 2020 (seems like forever ago, doesn’t it?), and the ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on October 28th of this year.

The PCE is a substantial upgrade over our previous facility. It makes us one of the largest flexible pouching operations in the United States without abandoning our roots as a Kansas-based company. We continue to be located in the heart of America, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

New Offerings in 2022

Along with our brand new facility comes brand new, state-of-the-art technology, techniques, and machinery, including ultrasonic sealers, allowing us to achieve a level of production efficiency we never thought possible. Of course, with new and improved technology and processes come new and improved product offerings.

In 2022, we will begin offering a new product, shaped pouches, to our customers, which will be an excellent complement to our rollstock, stand-up pouches, flat-bottom box pouches, pinch-bottom box pouches, single-web quad bags, and 3-side seal pouches. The next year will see us continuing to invest in the future of ourselves and our clients.

Continuing to Push the Envelope

Sustainability has always been a significant focus for us as a flexible packaging manufacturer, and we don’t expect that to change anytime soon. In 2022, we will continue to push our THRIVE™ line of award-winning, sustainable packaging solutions. Our THRIVE™ packaging solutions appeal to businesses and consumers who are conscious of their carbon footprint and strive to reduce the amount of harm done to the environment. Help us make 2022 a great year for Mother Nature!

2021 will be a difficult year to top, but we love a challenge, and we are very excited for the new opportunities 2022 will bring us. The last two years have been a wild ride, and we could not have made it through without the hard work, dedication, and support of our incredible team. At the end of the day, they are the ones who keep this operation running.
